Will Laura Return: Will “General Hospital” bring back Luke and Laura? Although ABC will neither confirm nor deny it, insiders say Genie Francis’ return to the soap as Laura is a “done deal.” The ABC soap became a national phenomenon in 1981 as viewers followed Laura’s hot romance with Luke, who was played by Anthony Geary. Geary now plays Luke’s look-alike cousin Bill Eckert. . . . Meanwhile, “General Hospital’s” Schell Danielson, who plays Dominique Baldwin, will leave the soap on May 5 to embark on a film career. ABC says it has already received more than 10,000 protest letters from viewers who think producers are writing her out, but Danielson says she asked for the release to accommodate the filming of two upcoming movies, “Blind Fold” and “Rage of Innocence.”
