Orange 8, El Modena 2--Right fielder Nick Estrada had two hits and drove in two runs as the Panthers (11-11, 7-5) used a five-run seventh inning to win.

Canyon 9, Foothill 7--Rick Judy had two hits and two runs scored, and Roy Valent scored three runs for host Canyon (13-9, 7-5). Foothill is 4-8 in league.

In the Arrowhead League:

Southern California Christian 11, La Verne 3--Matt Caballero had two hits and drove in three runs and Tim St. Clair struck out 11 in six innings for the Flames (7-9, 3-5).

In the Olympic League:

Capistrano Valley Christian 6, Whittier Christian 5 (9 innings)--On a 3-and-2 count with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, pinch hitter Kevin Fisher hit a single to left to score Matt Watts and the winning run for host Capistrano Valley Christian (5-14, 3-6). Whittier Christian is 10-9, 6-4.

Orange Lutheran 6, Brethren Christian 1--Dale Huss had two hits and two RBIs, and Jeff Courvoisier pitched a five-hitter, striking out five, as Orange Lutheran (14-7, 7-2) clinched a playoff berth. Brethren Christian is 4-5 in league.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 5, Trabuco Hills 2--Mike Messinger, who threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the victory for host Laguna Hills (15-8, 11-1), drove in two runs on a double to break the 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth. Trabuco Hills is 6-5-1 in league.

Century 4, Estancia 3--Hondo Huizar’s single in the sixth drove in Tony Garcia with the winning run for host Century (12-8-1, 8-3-1). Tommy Reimers (7-1) struck out 10, the third time this season he has struck out at least 10 batters. Estancia is 12-9, 6-6.

Laguna Beach 6, Costa Mesa 4--Max Borella hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to break a 4-4 tie and give the Artists (9-13, 4-8) the victory.

Borella also had an RBI triple in the third inning and pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out five.

Leadoff batter Clint Hayden had three hits and scored two runs for Laguna Beach. Costa Mesa is 3-19, 0-12.

In the Sunset League:

Fountain Valley 5, Huntington Beach 0--Second baseman Chuck Harcar, who had three hits, drove in one run in the third and one in the fifth to lead host Fountain Valley (19-4, 10-1).

Ocean View 10, Servite 1--Steve Rivera, Miles Hughey and Brad Churchill each had three hits for Ocean View (17-7, 6-5), which had 15 singles in a 16-hit attack. Hughey had three RBIs, Churchill two and Rivera one.

Edison 8, Marina 3--Edison broke a 2-2 tie with six runs in the top of the seventh. Todd Belitz drove in the first with a single, Robert Caton drove in the second with a squeeze bunt and then John Maruska doubled to drive in two to make it 6-2.

Belitz (6-0) allowed eight hits and one walk and struck out seven in the complete-game victory for the Chargers (18-4, 10-1). Marina is 5-6 in league.
