Buddy Bell’s Son Signs With Rangers

ARLINGTON, Tex. —
Mike Bell, son of former Texas third baseman Buddy Bell and the Rangers’ recent No. 1 draft choice, signed with his father’s old team Tuesday.
The 18-year-old Bell, also a third baseman, led Moeller High in Cincinnati to the Ohio state championship, hitting .407 with four homers and 22 runs batted in. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitter stole 23 bases and scored 30 runs.
Terms of his contract were not disclosed.
