Hartford Courant

After making his first return to the minor leagues in nine years, Roger Clemens threw three scoreless innings in a start for the triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox to test a groin muscle injury that has kept him on the disabled list since June 21. He allowed one hit, walked four and struck out eight against the Richmond Braves before a near-capacity crowd of 7,568 at Pawtucket, R.I. Clemens said he hopes to start for Boston Friday night against Seattle at Fenway Park.
