Still in the Big Time

Veteran rapper Big Daddy Kane, long ago dismissed as a has-been in most circles, is showing that he’s not ready for the rap graveyard just yet. His single “Very Special” has a very special spot on The Times’ Southern California pop singles chart--No. 3. Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus may not be selling well enough these days to make a splash on the pop chart but he’s still a major factor on the country chart, boasting two Top 10 entries--his second album, “It Won’t Be the Last” (No. 4) and his debut, “Some Gave All” (No. 8).
