In nonleague girls’ volleyball:

Mission Viejo 3, Irvine 0--Nina Foster had 20 kills as host Mission Viejo (2-0) won, 15-7, 16-14, 15-8. Irvine is 1-1.

Mater Dei 3, Fountain Valley 0--Roberta Gehlke had 14 kills and Heather Daze had 10 and Allison Stricklin had 26 assists for host Mater Dei (3-0), which won, 15-8, 16-14, 15-13.

Woodbridge 3, Foothill 0--Mary Heinecke had 16 kills and Devin Nelson had 36 assists for host Woodbridge, which won, 15-13, 15-11, 15-9.

In Garden Grove League girls’ tennis:

Bolsa Grande 11, Garden Grove 7--No. 3 singles player Lisa Chau played swept her sets to lead host Bolsa Grande (2-0, 1-0).

La Quinta 11, Kennedy 7--Lynn Wu swept her singles sets to lead visiting La Quinta.

In Sea View League girls’ tennis:

Saddleback 16, Tustin 2--Cyndi Cao swept in singles, 6-3, 6-0, 6-3, and Trinh Le and Dao Cao swept in doubles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, for host Saddleback (2-1, 1-0).

Newport Harbor 11, Irvine 7--Katie Hawkins and Kim Lewis won their doubles sets, 6-3, 6-1, 6-4, to lead host Newport Harbor (3-0, 1-0), which won seven of nine in doubles.

In Sunset League girls’ tennis:

Marina 11, Huntington Beach 7--Holly Meyers swept her singles sets, 6-0, 6-2, 6-1, and Linda Yoon and Ashley Goldsmith swept their doubles sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, to lead visiting Marina (1-2, 1-0).

In nonleague girls’ tennis:

El Modena 10, Esperanza 8--Brandi Freundenberg and her younger sister, Holli, paced El Modena (3-0). Brandi won three games without losing a game and Holli lost only one game.

In Century League boys’ cross-country:

Orange 20, Canyon 41--Jaime Martinez finished three miles in 16:17 for Orange (1-0).

In nonleague boys’ cross-country:

Aliso Niguel 27, Laguna Beach 29--Adam McLarty covered three miles in 18:41 at Eric Hulst Memorial Course to lead the Wolverines to victory in the first cross-country meet in school history.
