PREP TENNIS ROUNDUP : Dana Hills Defeats Woodbridge

Jennifer Millard and Nikki Yasutake won three doubles sets to lead Dana Hills, ranked No. 2 in Orange County, to a 12-6 victory over No. 5 Woodbridge Monday in a nonleague girls’ tennis match at Woodbridge.

Millard and Yasutake, playing at No. 1 doubles, won 6-0, 6-1, 6-3, for the Dolphins (5-1). Elizabeth Stevens, playing despite an illness, won two of three singles sets at No. 1 singles.

Woodbridge freshman Natalie Exon swept in singles, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, for the Warriors (5-2).

In other nonleague girls’ tennis:

Sunny Hills 10, La Mirada 8--Dana Rudolph and Barbie Bayless swept their singles sets for Sunny Hills (2-5). La Mirada fell to 6-1. Rudolph won 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, and Bayless won 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.

Irvine 13, Capistrano Valley 5--Sarah Denson, Alessandra Schinaia and Suzan Yildiz swept their singles sets to lead Irvine (6-1). Denson won 7-6, 6-1, 6-1, Schinaia won 6-0, 7-5, 6-3 and Yildiz won 6-1, 6-3, 6-3.

University 13, Foothill 5--Nalavika Dore won all three sets, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, for University (4-4).

Esperanza 11, Fullerton 7--Jane Skuben swept in singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0 for visiting Fullerton (2-6). Esperanza is 4-3.

Valencia 12, La Quinta 6--Jenny Gonzales won all three sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for Valencia (6-2).
