The status of high school basketball players who participated in the Nike Career Developmental Weekend held at Beaverton, Ore., on Sept. 10-12: ALASKA

* Player: Trajan Langdon, 6-foot-4 senior, Anchorage East.

* Status: He violated federation rules on amateurism by accepting a gift of more than $20 in value. Langdon took the merchandise to the federation office, it was returned to Nike and he was reinstated. Mike Blewett, assistant director of the Alaska School Activities Assn., said the federation sent Nike a letter telling the company to “clean up its act.” CALIFORNIA

* Players: Toby Bailey, 6-5 senior, Loyola; Schea Cotton, 6-5 freshman, Bellflower St. John Bosco; Jelani Gardner, 6-5 senior, St. John Bosco; J.R. Henderson, 6-8 senior, Bakersfield East; Cameron Murray, 6-1 senior, Glendora; Ricky Price, 6-5 senior, Gardena Serra; Miles Simon, 6-4 senior, Santa Ana Mater Dei, and Tim Young, 7-1 senior, Santa Cruz Harbor.

* Status: They violated California Interscholastic Federation rules for participating in an all-star game after Sept. 2, but no penalties were levied. FLORIDA

* Players: Allen Edwards, 6-4 senior, Miami Senior; Corey Louis, 6-9 senior, Miami Northwestern, and Charlie Miller, 6-6 senior, Miami South.

* Status: They violated rules on amateurism, and their status is expected to be decided Monday. Federation officials are considering at least minor suspensions. GEORGIA

* Player: Michael Maddoz, 6-7 senior, Atlanta.

* Status: He violated federation rules on amateurism and had to return the merchandise to regain eligibility. ILLINOIS

* Players: Ronnie Fields, 6-3 sophomore, Chicago Farragut, and Bryant Notree, 6-4 senior, Chicago Simeon.

* Status: They were suspended for four games for violating Illinois High School Assn. rules on all-star competition and amateurism. The players returned the merchandise to Nike. They reportedly will appeal but have not formally submitted an appeal to the federation. LOUISIANA

* Player: Lester Earl, 6-8 sophomore, Baton Rouge Glen Oak.

* Status: He did not violate any rules of the Louisiana High School Athletic Assn. and was able to keep his merchandise. MARYLAND

* Player: Norman Nolan, 6-8 senior, Baltimore.

* Status: He violated rules on amateurism and had to return the merchandise before the Baltimore City Schools restored his eligibility. MINNESOTA

* Player: Sam Jacobson, 6-5 senior, Cottage Grove Park.

* Status: He was cleared to play beforehand after requesting that Nike officials check with the Minnesota state association to make sure his participation was legal. It was the only case in which Nike checked with a high school federation. MISSISSIPPI

* Player: Jerod Ward, 6-9 senior, Clinton.

* Status: He was suspended for one game and required to return all merchandise for violating Mississippi High School Activities Assn. rules on amateurism and playing in an all-star game before his eligibility expired. NEVADA

* Player: Prince Fowler, 5-9 senior, Las Vegas.

* Status: He did not violate any rules of the Nevada Interscholastic Athletic Assn. But federation officials said they plan to revise their guidelines to prevent such a situation in the future. NEW YORK

* Players: Bob Lazor, 6-8 senior, Norwich; Felipe Lopez, 6-5 senior, South Bronx Rice; Stephon Marbury 6-1 junior, Brooklyn, and Kareem Reid, 5-10 senior, Bronx.

* Status: They violated rules on amateurism and had to return the merchandise before regaining their eligibility. NORTH CAROLINA

* Player: Ishua Benjamin, 6-4 senior, Concord.

* Status: He violated federation rules for accepting a gift certificate of any value and had to repay Nike $100. OHIO

* Player: Bob Brannen, 6-8 senior, Cincinnati.

* Status: He violated federation rules for accepting an award of more than $50 in value and had to return all merchandise. OREGON

* Player: Tyrone Manlove, 6-3 sophomore, Portland Woodrow Wilson.

* Status: He violated federation rules for accepting an award of any value and had to return merchandise purchased with the gift certificate. The Oregon Schools Activities Assn. was promised $10,000 in proceeds from the Nike all-star games and plans to keep the money. PENNSYLVANIA

* Players: Dan Fortson, 6-9 senior, Pittsburgh Shaler; Pete Lisicky, 6-3 senior, Whitehall, and Johnny Miller, 6-1 senior, Quarryville Solanco.

* Status: They violated rules on amateurism and had to return the merchandise before their eligibility was restored. SOUTH CAROLINA

* Player: Keith Garnett, 6-10 junior, Mauldin.

* Status: He violated rules on amateurism and had to return the merchandise before his eligibility was restored. TENNESSEE

* Players: Ron Mercer, 6-7 junior, Nashville Goodpasture and Lorenzen Wright, 6-10 senior, Memphis Brooker T. Washington.

* Status: They violated rules on all-star games, amateurism and acceptance of awards and were suspended for a year by the Tennessee Secondary Schools Assn. The Board of Control will consider an appeal Nov. 3. VIRGINIA

* Players: Mark Blount, 6-11 junior; Alex Sanders, 6-7 senior; Curtis Staples, 6-2 senior, all of Mouth of Wilson Oak Hill.

* Status: There were no rules violations because Oak Hill Academy is a private school. But the Virginia High School League is considering banning the three from playing against VHSL schools. Oak Hill is entered in a tournament in which it could play as many as three games against league schools. A decision is expected this week. WASHINGTON

* Player: omm’A Givens, 6-10 senior, Aberdeen.

* Status: He violated league rules on amateurism and had to return the merchandise before his eligibility was restored this week. The decision is subject to review by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Assn.
