COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Berke, Ridera Each Score Twice as Irvine Rolls to 9-0 Victory

Shawna Berke scored two goals and had three assists as UC Irvine defeated College of the Southwest, 9-0, in a nonconference women’s soccer game Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M.

Christina Ridera scored two goals, and Jaycee Leitner, Chris Awadallah, Keelyn Healy, Ruthie Garcia and Kim Kaitanjian each scored one for the Anteaters (11-6).

Stephanie Boes stopped six shots for her sixth shutout.

In other nonconference women’s soccer:

Loyola Marymount 4, Cal State Fullerton 2 (OT)--Renee Close and Jennifer Patterson scored goals for Fullerton (2-12-1), but Judey Petix and Yvonne Dalton scored in overtime for Loyola (5-10).

In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer:

Azusa Pacific 1, Concordia 0--Eddie Huerta made 15 saves for Concordia, but Chris Cole’s goal nearly seven minutes into overtime dealt the visiting Eagles their 15th loss in 15 games. Concordia is 0-9 in conference play.

In nonconference men’s soccer:

Southern California College 2, Biola 1--Mark Donaldson scored both of Southern California College goals. Ziggy Funk scored Biola’s lone goal Southern California College is 8-9.

In Big West women’s volleyball:

Pacific 3, Cal State Fullerton 0--Cal State Fullerton fell to 1-21 and 0-13 as Pacific won, 15-1, 15-1, 15-11. Rebecca Downey had seven kills for Pacific (12-5, 6-3). Megan Treese and Lisi Fa’Agata had four kills apiece.
