Clippers Go Overtime to Beat Bulls

Stanley Roberts, Danny Manning and Ron Harper combined for 63 points and scored 11 of the Clippers’ 15 points in overtime as the Clippers defeated the Chicago Bulls, 99-90, in an exhibition game Wednesday night.

The Clippers (5-1) started the overtime with a 10-1 run, with Harper hitting two baskets and Manning and Roberts one each. Roberts scored 22 points, Manning 21 and Harper 20.

Mark Aguirre, signed by the Clippers Monday as a free agent, scored two points, making only one of seven shots.

B.J. Armstrong scored all six of the Bulls’ points in overtime and finished with 15. Horace Grant also had 15 for Chicago (3-3).

The game was the first for Scottie Pippen after recovering from off-season ankle and wrist surgery. He had 13 points.

Grant kept Chicago alive in the fourth quarter, scoring seven points, including a tip-in that tied the score, 82-82, with 2:02 to play.

Each team failed to score on its final possession in regulation.
