Two benefit concerts for the family of pole vaulter John Pennel will be held at Agoura High tonight at 6 and 8:30.
Pennel, of Agoura Hills, died of cancer Sept. 26 at 53.
Pennel was the first man to clear 17 feet in the pole vault and was the 1963 Sullivan Award winner.
All proceeds will go to Pennel’s widow, Caroline, and their children, Shannon, 16, Sean, 12, and Erin, 10.
