Golden West Wins Tournament Title

Becki Gehlke had 11 kills to help Golden West to a three-game sweep of Foothill in the title match of the College of the Sequoias women’s volleyball tournament Sunday in Visalia.
Golden West won, 15-2, 15-6, 15-0. Jaimie Torromeo added nine kills for Golden West, the top-ranked team in California. The Rustlers are 19-0.
In the consolation round of the Chaffey women’s basketball tournament:
Golden West 73, Orange Coast 68--Deana Itow scored 18 points for Golden West (2-1) in this matchup of Orange Empire Conference rivals.
Kristin Brun and Julie Murdent each added 17 points for the Rustlers. LeAnn Kazmer had 20 for Orange Coast (1-2).
