ROUNDUP : Smith’s 2 Goals Pace Master’s in Soccer Playoff

Paul Smith scored two goals Wednesday to lead The Master’s to a 4-0 soccer victory over Greenville (Ill.) College in a first-round match of the National Christian College Athletic Assn. tournament in Cleveland, Tenn.

Ryan Howard and Daryl Topalian also scored for The Master’s (15-6-1), which will play Bartlesville Wesleyan (Okla.) College today in a semifinal match.

Moorpark 35, East L.A. 15--Raider wrestlers Ryan Kern (134 pounds) and Mario Varela (167 pounds) pinned their opponents in a Western State Conference meet at Moorpark.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Valley 87, Pasadena 71--Eric Grayson scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half to lead the Monarchs (2-1) in a nonconference game at home. Craig Griffin paced Valley with 16 points.
