SOUTHERN SECTION WATER POLO : Esperanza, Sunny Hills Play Semifinals Tonight

Esperanza and Sunny Hills will play in the Southern Section Division II water polo semifinals tonight at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.

Second-seeded Sunny Hills (23-8) will face Whittier La Serna (19-6) at 7 p.m., and fourth-seeded Esperanza (19-8) will play top-seeded Riverside Poly (27-3) at 8:15 p.m. in a rematch of last year’s title game, which was won by Esperanza.

The rest of the division semifinals will be Saturday.

In Division I, El Toro will play Long Beach Wilson at 3:15 p.m. at Long Beach State, and San Clemente will play Corona del Mar at 2 p.m. at Newport Harbor High. In Division III, Costa Mesa will play Santa Barbara at 11 a.m. at Caltech. In Division IV, Los Amigos will play La Verne Bonita at 3:15 at Newport Harbor.
