PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : South Pasadena Shuts Out Fullerton

After Fullerton posted four consecutive shutouts to reach the final of the Hacienda Heights Wilson girls’ soccer tournament, South Pasadena’s Angelica McGaha scored two goals to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 victory against Fullerton in the championship game Tuesday.

Goalie Dawn Bitsie had nine saves for Fullerton (7-5-1), and had a string of five consecutive shutouts broken.

South Pasadena improved to 12-0-1 with the victory.

Deborah Hargrave scored Fullerton’s only goal, her ninth of the season, in a 1-0 victory over San Marino in the semifinals.

In girls’ nonleague soccer:

Laguna Hills 0, Dana Hills 0--Laguna Hills goalie Sarah Lang had four saves to record her fourth shootout.

Rosary 6, Garden Grove 0--Amy Shanks and Andrea Barclay each scored two goals for Rosary (5-3).

In the Brea-Olinda tournament:

Esperanza 6, Cerritos Gahr 0--Senior Mark Alleman scored four goals to lead Esperanza (6-2-2) in the semifinals. Dave Clemmins and Ray Pellicer scored the other goals for the Aztecs.

Santa Ana Valley 2, Mission Viejo 1--Rafael Reynosa scored the game-winning goal from 10 yards with five minutes to go as Santa Ana Valley (9-0-1), the county’s top team, remained undefeated with a pool-play victory. Freshman Marjarito Morales scored the Falcons’ other goal.

In a pool-play game earlier Tuesday, Alleman scored two goals for the Aztecs in a 4-0 victory over El Dorado’s junior varsity.

El Dorado 6, Long Beach Wilson 0--Luciano Cid scored two goals in the first 10 minutes for El Dorado (4-2-2).

In the Riverside Poly tournament:

Canyon 3, Colton 3 (Canyon wins on penalty kicks, 6-5)--Aaron Harries scored the winning penalty kick for the Comanches (6-1-1). Sasha Saneff scored two goals and Steve Maynard added another for Canyon.
