Morro Bay 73, Paraclete 69--Steve Dombrowski scored 26 points and Brendan Carberry added 16 for Paraclete in the seventh-place game.

CHAMINADE

Calabasas 46, Chaminade 41--Sophomore center Nick Alexander scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Calabasas (7-5) in pool play.

Chaminade, which trailed at halftime, 29-14, cut the deficit to four points in the fourth quarter but the rally fell short. John Gunn led Chaminade (4-6) with 12 points.

Chaminade Coach Rob Kurowski was particularly frustrated with the loss. “In our (Tuesday) win against Granada Hills, we played a great third quarter,” Kurowski said. “But as good as we were then, we were that bad today.”

Simeon Woodall scored 13 points for Campbell Hall and Alex Lopez added 12. Lopez was held to two points in the second half.

Cleveland Coach Kevin Crider said, “We used overall team pressure defense to cause Campbell Hall to do things they didn’t want to do.”

But despite the win, Crider was unhappy with Cleveland’s play.

“Since the Inglewood game (when the Cavaliers scored only five first-quarter points) we need to improve our intensity.”

Lopez’s most-productive quarter was the second, when he scored eight points.

After being intentionally fouled by Cleveland’s Rudolph Henry, Lopez scored the next eight points for the Vikings, who trailed, 25-24, at halftime.

Cleveland starter Roderick Jones missed the game due to a shoulder injury suffered in Tuesday’s game against St. Monica. Crider is hopeful that Jones will return in time for Cleveland’s first league game next week.
