Loyola Rally Isn’t Enough

SAN DIEGO — Loyola Marymount had its chances Saturday night, only to fall short in a 99-93 loss to San Diego in a West Coast Conference game before 1,957 at the USD Sports Center.
Loyola (1-14, 0-4) suffered its 16th consecutive road loss and 14th in a row in the WCC.
San Diego (10-5, 2-2) led, 46-35, at halftime and increased its margin to 17 points early in the second half before the Lions staged a comeback.
The Lions were led by guard Bill Mazurie with a season high of 23 points and forward Wyking Jones with 20. San Diego had five players in double figures, led by guard Doug Harris with 20 points.
