LOS ANGELES : Cabdriver Shot to Death in Apparent Robbery
A cabdriver was shot to death in an apparent robbery, police said Thursday. No one was arrested.
Witnesses heard one or two shots and saw a young man running from the area on Raymond Avenue where the cab crashed into a parked truck and caught fire late Wednesday, Detective Bob Lopez said. The driver’s heart had stopped when firefighters pulled him from the car about 9:30 p.m., Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
The driver was pronounced dead at California Medical Center. His identity was not immediately known, police said.
