A Municipal Court judge on Thursday ordered a 44-year-old man to stand trial on charges that he abducted his former girlfriend outside her Thousand Oaks church, handcuffed her and held her at gunpoint for about 90 minutes.

Ventura County Judge Bruce A. Clark ordered Thomas Robles of Norwalk to appear Feb. 18 for an arraignment in Superior Court.

He is charged with one count of kidnaping and a special allegation that he used a firearm during the crime.

During a preliminary hearing Thursday, Keely Okada testified that Robles forced her into his car as she left church near Sandberg Street and Keats Avenue on Dec. 17. She said he put a hand over her mouth because she was screaming.

Once in Robles’ car, the woman said, she was handcuffed to the front seat as he drove around Thousand Oaks and Camarillo.

She said she had broken off a relationship with Robles this past September, when they stopped living together after about six months.
