Mater Dei’s Cotton Injured, Misses Game
Mater Dei forward Schea Cotton missed Wednesday night’s South Coast League game against Mission Viejo because a slight muscle pull in his back.
“Schea’s been taking it real light in practice and we decided to rest him for the playoffs,” Mater Dei Coach Gary McKnight said Thursday.
Cotton, a freshman, averages 19.6 points and 9.4 rebounds. He was hardly missed by the Monarchs, who defeated the Diablos, 104-52. McKnight said Cotton would play tonight against Capistrano Valley in Mater Dei’s league final.
