Woman Killed, 3 Others Injured in Freeway Crash
A woman was killed and three other people were injured Saturday in an accident on the Ventura Freeway, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 4 p.m. on the westbound freeway near the San Diego Freeway interchange, authorities said.
Late Saturday, California Highway Patrol officers were still investigating the cause of the accident in which a car carrying two women collided with a pickup truck and overturned, said CHP spokesman Bruce Ferrier.
The names of the victims were not immediately available.
In addition to the fatality, the accident left two adults seriously injured and an 8-year-old child with minor injuries, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
Two westbound lanes of the Ventura Freeway were closed for more than four hours after the accident, Ferrier said.
