Estancia, which finished 21-5, closed the gap to four points late in the third quarter on a three-pointer by Jenny Jennings.

But the Eagles got no closer.

Jennings and Laura Czingula each scored 12 points for Estancia. No other Eagles scored in double figures.

Jaymee Muriset had 10 points also for San Luis Obispo.

The Eagles were outrebounded, 37-18, and shot only 37% from the floor (16 of 43).

“We executed well, we just missed a lot of shots we normally make,” Estancia Coach Rich Boyce said. “Our girls gutted it out, but it was just not meant to be.”

Estancia, which tied for second in the Pacific Coast League, upset third-seeded Rancho Alamitos, 51-44, Wednesday in the second round.

Estancia had beaten Bellflower, 63-60, in the first round Feb. 19.
