A fire broke out in an unoccupied, two-story section of the Disneyland Hotel complex about 8:55 p.m. Wednesday and was contained in about 30 minutes.

The fire was confined to the second floor of the structure, which was being renovated, but officials did not immediately know how it started or how much damage was done. There were no reports of injuries.

Fire officials said the blaze may have broken out on the ground floor, where plumbing work was being done earlier Wednesday.

The fire was discovered by hotel employees, according to Lindsay Schnebly, manager of publicity for Disneyland Resorts. No other buildings in the complex were threatened by the fire, he said.

The building, at 1150 W. Cerritos Ave., is called Villa 15, and contains meeting rooms and some guest rooms. It is detached from the main towers of the Disneyland Hotel, according to Anaheim fire officials.

By 10 p.m., some firefighters were still working to extinguish hot spots in the walls, but others were being sent back to their stations.
