PREP ROUNDUP : Dougherty, Reaves Pace El Toro to Swimming Victory

Terence Dougherty and Jay Reaves each won two events as El Toro beat Foothill, 107-63, in a nonleague boys’ swim meet Tuesday at El Toro.

Dougherty won the 100 butterfly in 55.86 seconds. He also won the 100 freestyle (50.83). Reaves won the 200 free in 1:55.23 and the 100 backstroke in 58.54. El Toro is 3-1.

In other nonleague boys’ swimming:

Capistrano Valley 99, Trabuco Hills 71--David Schmidt won the 200 free and the 100 butterfly and Jake Yokota won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke for host Capistrano Valley.

Sunny Hills 100, Esperanza 71--Carlo Franzia won the 200 free in 1:54.1 and the 500 free in 5:08.9 for Sunny Hills (2-0). Seann Schiele posted victories in the individual medley (2:11.7) and the 100 breaststroke (1:05.9) for the Lancers.

Troy 101, Los Amigos 78--Scott Baker won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.3, and was on the winning medley relay and freestyle relay teams for host Troy (2-2).

In Sunset League boys’ swimming:

Edison 131, Ocean View 14--Edison swept first place in all events, led by Cory Tague who had victories in the 50 free (24.23) and the 500 free (5:39.18).

Fountain Valley 100, Servite 85--Matt Richardson won the 100 free (54.27) and anchored victories in the 200 medley and 200 free relays to lead Fountain Valley (2-1, 2-0).

In Sunset League girls’ swimming:

Fountain Valley 133, Rosary 52--Lauren Davis won the 50 free (26.69) and anchored the 200 medley relay and Chrissie Motschman won the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly to lead Fountain Valley (2-1, 2-0).

Edison 121, Ocean View 38--Rebecca Viscount won the 200 free in 2:03.49 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.37 for Edison.

In nonleague girls’ swimming:

Canyon 107, Savanna 64--Heather Offenstein won the 200 free in 2:18.7 for visiting Savanna (3-0).

Troy 129, Los Amigos 46--Sarah Denton won the 200 free in 2:06.84 and the 100 back in 1:08.52, and her sister Julie won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.08 and the 200 IM in 2:32.91.

Sunny Hills 101, Esperanza 69--Anna Armstrong qualified for the Southern Section Division II championships in the 200 IM with a time of 2:20.3 and in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.9 for Sunny Hills.

Capistrano Valley 123, Trabuco Hills 47--Tracey McCalley won the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly for host Capistrano Valley.

In Sunset League boys’ tennis:

Ocean View 10, Fountain Valley 8--Jakub Pietrowski, who has not lost a game in any set this year, kept his streak alive with a 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 sweep for Ocean View (5-0, 3-0).

In nonleague tennis:

Sunny Hills 12 2/3, Esperanza 8 1/3--John Han swept at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2, 6-0, and Juno Kuan and David Farkas won at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4, to lead host Sunny Hills (3-0).

Laguna Beach 11 1/3, Mission Viejo 9 2/3--Steve Seybold and Lauren Caston, the No. 2 doubles team for Laguna Beach (2-3), defeated Mission Viejo’s No. 1 doubles team, 7-5, to gain the victory.

In Sunset League golf:

Servite 204, Huntington Beach 215--Mike Lauder shot one-over 36 to lead Servite (5-1, 1-0) at Hacienda.

Edison 195, Westminster 234--David Searle shot one-under 34 for Edison (4-1, 1-0) at SeaCliff.

Marina 194, Fountain Valley 215--Jon Pan shot one-under 34 and Karl Johnstone shot two-over 37 to lead Marina (2-1, 1-0) at Meadowlark.

In nonleague golf:

Estancia 206, University 216--Pete Krutzik of Estancia and Bret Skinner of University each shot three-over 39 at Mesa Verde.

Orange 216, Garden Grove 218--Brady Richards shot one-under 34 for Orange (3-2-1) at Willowick.

Trabuco Hills 399, Valencia 410--Kevin Rodgers and Nick Petralia each shot 77 for Trabuco Hills in match that was played at Alta Vista and Coto de Caza.

In nonleague gymnastics:

Brea-Olinda 163.8, Los Angeles Marlborough 144--Erica Castillo captured first place in the balance beam (9.1), floor exercise (9.4) and all-around (34.4), Genna Chapluk won the vault (8.8) and Tarra Barlow won the uneven bars (8.6) to lead Brea-Olinda (4-0).

Capistrano Valley 165.5, Long Beach Millikan 86.3--Trisha Daley captured the all-around title with a score of 34.7 for Capistrano Valley (4-0).
