In nonleague baseball:

Huntington Beach 3-9, Newhall Hart 2-3--Jeremy Vidales’ seventh-inning double tied the first game, then Scott Palmer scored on a passed ball to win it for Huntington Beach (7-1). Palmer hit a solo homer in the sixth. In the second game, Brad Lineberger hit a three-run homer to lead a 13-hit attack.

Tustin 1-6, Arroyo Grande 5-5--After a three-hour rain delay the teams were able to take the field. In the second game, Derek Baker hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to bring Tustin (5-3) within one, 3-2. Baker also added a double and two RBIs. Matt Trujillo hit a homer in the fifth to give the Tillers the lead. Trujillo went two for two in the game. Arroyo Grande is 5-3.

In the Canyon Relays boys’ swimming meet:

Villa Park wins--The Spartans won three of the eight relays and finished with 104 points, topping second-place Santa Margarita, which had 90 points.

In the Canyon Relays girls’ swimming meet:

Santa Margarita wins--The Eagles won six of eight relays and scored 116 points. Villa Park, which won the other two relays, was second with 104 points.

In the Laguna Hills boys’ volleyball tournament:

Los Amigos 2, El Modena 1--Kiet Tran had 25 kills for Los Amigos (3-0) as the Lobos won the championship with an 8-15, 15-3, 15-4 victory. Tran was named tournament MVP.
