The bodies of an El Monte shoe repair shop owner, his wife and their 16-month-old son were found in a Rosemead apartment Wednesday night, authorities said. It is believed that the man killed his wife and son with a handgun before turning the weapon on himself.

Detectives suspect that the man, identified by the county coroner’s office as Parviz Parvand, 39, fired the shots after a domestic dispute, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Angie McLaughlin. Bruises and cuts were found on the bodies of Rocio Carmen Parvand, 33, and the boy, Alex Parvand, sheriff’s detectives told neighbors.

A handgun was found at the scene and detectives believe it was fired by the husband, McLaughlin said. The bodies were discovered at about 9:30 p.m. by Rocio Parvand’s parents, who had dropped by the apartment in the 9400 block of Steele Street to visit their daughter, said neighbor Leticia Nieto.
