Prostitution Raid
Nearly two dozen people were arrested and charged with prostitution-related offenses during a raid on an acupuncture clinic in a strip mall in the City of Industry last week, authorities said.
After serving a search warrant last Thursday afternoon at Gale Acupuncture, an acupuncture and massage parlor at 15341 Gale Ave., deputies arrested a man and six women for maintaining and residing in a “house of ill fame,” said Lt. David H. Kading of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Nearly 300 bulk-packaged condoms were seized.
Kading said an eight-hour sting operation that followed the raid resulted in the arrest of 13 men for suspicion of soliciting prostitution from female undercover deputies.
The offenses are punishable by up to six months in jail or a fine not exceeding $1,000.
