In another Sunset League game:

Huntington Beach 3, Santa Ana 0--Jim Brewer pitched his third shutout of the season for the Oilers (15-4, 6-2), allowing three hits.

Brad Lineberger’s third home run of the year, with nobody on base, highlighted a three-run fourth inning.

In the Century League:

Canyon 7, El Modena 2--Brent Patterson pitched a complete game, striking out three and walking none for Canyon (15-4, 8-1).

Casey Wilson also had a home run and two RBIs, and Josh Guiterrez had two hits and two RBIs for Canyon.

In the Freeway League:

Fullerton 5, Sonora 4--Tyler Brickell had two hits and drove in the winning run in the fourth inning and Mario Ramirez hit his first home run this season in the second for ninth-ranked Fullerton (16-4, 8-2).

Sunny Hills 16, La Habra 4--Mike Guzman had two hits, including a grand slam in second inning, for Sunny Hills (10-10-1, 6-4). Kevin Garand was four for five with three RBIs and Josh Hochgesang had two hits, three RBIs and a triple.

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 5, Rancho Alamitos 4--Garden Grove (6-3 in league) held off a seventh-inning rally by Rancho Alamitos, which got two home runs and a triple from Jeff Turbarg.

La Quinta 3, Santiago 0--Jim Livernois struck out 11 in a complete game for No. 5 La Quinta (18-2, 9-0). Teammate Sean Carlson had three hits, stole two bases and scored a run.

Pacifica 5, Bolsa Grande 2--Jeff Barndollar pitched a complete-game, allowing one hit and striking out six for Pacifica (101-10, 5-3).

Erik Mauer had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.

In the Orange League:

Savanna 4, Anaheim 3 (8)--Mike Hwnes’ two-out home run in the eighth inning gave Savanna (8-11, 5-5) the victory.

Russel Hartman got the victory. He pitched the first two innings and then the final inning. Omar Moreno pitched a complete game for Anaheim (8-13, 3-7), giving up four hits.

Valencia 6, Western 0--Chris Draft hit a bases-loaded triple in the second to lead Valencia (8-11, 7-3). Draft was two for two, with two intentional walks and two runs scored. On the mound Ben Esque (1-3) picked up his first victory with a two-hit shutout, striking out seven.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Century 7, Laguna Beach 0--Christian Duran pitched a two-hitter to lead Century (14-5, 7-3). Duran has pitched 14 consecutive shutout innings. Teammate Richard Cevallos had two hits, a double and an RBI and Danny Torres knocked in two runs on two sacrifice flies.

In the Sea View League:

Saddleback 5, Irvine 2--Tony Zuniga’s three-run double with two outs in the second inning for Saddleback. Eddie Megia hit a solo home run for the Roadrunners (11-9-1, 5-4).

Tustin 12, Newport Harbor 6--Jon Lauderdale had two hits, including a two-run homer in the first for the sixth-ranked Tillers. Justin Lloyd added three hits with two RBIs and Ryan Winmill had a double and three RBIs for Tustin (16-5, 8-1). Brett Hlista hit a home run in the third inning for the Sailors.

University 5, Santa Margarita 2--Tim Blackburn pitched a complete game for University (7-14-1, 2-7), allowing five hits and one walk.

Rourke Field had two hits, including a double and two RBIs for University.

In South Coast League:

El Toro 6, San Clemente 2--Brian Saltarelli hit a home run in the first inning for El Toro (13-8, 5-5). Saltarelli had two hits and two RBIs. Teammate Bryan Lefevers had three hits, th three RBIs and a triple.

On the mound, Brandon Hendriks struck out four, walking two and allowing only two unearned runs. With the victory El Toro, San Clemente (5-5 in league) and Capistrano Valley move into a three-way tie for third in the South Coast league.

Mater Dei 12, Mission Viejo 2--Matt Treanor was two for two with two RBIs and Gary Brown was two for two with three RBIs for the Monarchs (14-5-1, 9-1). Mike Hessman (7-1) gave up three hits and no runs in four innings.

In nonleague baseball:

St. Margaret’s 10, Los Angeles-Camp Kilpatrick 7--Joey Powell had two home runs, a double and four RBI for St. Margaret’s (10-1).
