Hodges, from Esperanza High, has had several key hits for Cypress this season but none bigger than his home run against Riverside April 26. The teams started the day tied for first and Riverside had rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth to tie it, 3-3. But Hodges led off bottom of the seventh with a home run, his second of the game, and Cypress went on to a 4-3 victory. He finished the three-game week going six for 11 with three home runs, five runs scored and four RBIs. Hodges starts this week hitting .368 with 10 home runs, and he has scored 39 runs and driven in 37.
