THOUSAND OAKS : Shots Fired During Unsuccessful Robbery
Two robbers shot into a Thousand Oaks restaurant early Wednesday as they tried unsuccessfully to rob it, authorities said.
No one was hurt in the attempted robbery of El Torito Restaurant at 449 N. Moorpark Road, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
A janitor and his two brothers left the restaurant and were accosted by two men with handguns about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, deputies said.
The pair forced the three back to the building and tried to get them to open the restaurant door by calling to the manager, but the manager became suspicious and refused to let them in, deputies said.
The men then broke a window and fired a shot into the restaurant.
They fled on foot and no arrests have been made, deputies said.
