BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJORS : Braves’ Olson Still in Spring Training
Atlanta reliever Gregg Olson threw one inning Wednesday in extended spring training and will pitch again today, General Manager John Schuerholz said. It will be the second time the right-hander has thrown on consecutive days since being placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right elbow during spring training. . . . The Braves have changed the duties of Hall of Famer Willie Stargell, who has worked in the organization for eight years. As special assistant to Player Personnel Director Chuck LaMar, Stargell will evaluate players within the organization as well as possible draft picks. . . . Australian pitcher Brent Iddon, 18, signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners.
