OCC’s Hutcheon to Play Soccer at San Luis Obispo

Scott Hutcheon, who played soccer at Edison High and Orange Coast College, has signed a letter of intent to play for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Hutcheon was an All-Orange Empire Conference selection last year for Orange Coast.

Trevor Brown, a second baseman at Troy High, has signed a letter of intent to play at Tusculum College, an NAIA school in Tennessee. Brown batted .310 this season with 20 RBIs and had a team-high eight doubles.

Southern Section singles champion Jakub Pietrowski of Ocean View High is top-seeded in the boys’ 18 division of the Southern California Junior Sectional championships that begin June 18, at sites throughout Orange County.

The tournament, which will include some 1,600 participants, will have age-division finals June 26 at Los Caballeros.

Santa Margarita’s John Bamford and Marina’s Dan Judkins have been selected to play for the West squad in the Puma Cup Invitational, June 9-11 at St. Louis Soccer Park.

The Puma Cup, which features the top 64 seniors from around the country, will be played a week before the World Cup.

Disneyland will honor the Brea-Olinda Ladycats today with a special day and parade. The team will have its picture taken with Mickey Mouse at 10 a.m. and the parade will begin at 3 p.m.
