Woman Dies After Car Goes Out of Control, Crashes
A 52-year-old Tustin woman died Wednesday morning after her car went out of control and crashed on a busy street in downtown Santa Ana, police said.
Janice Eseke was driving north in the 1500 block of Main Street at 8:30 a.m. when her car jumped a curb, sideswiped a building and hit a utility pole, Sgt. Dick Faust said.
Eseke was taken to Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana, where she was pronounced dead, Faust said.
“It’s unknown if the accident was caused by a mechanical failure or driver incompetence due to medical problems,” Faust said.
The cause of the accident was under investigation, he said.
