Jim Everett, playing only the first half, completed 10 of 14 passes for 150 yards, an interception and a touchdown in helping the New Orleans Saints (1-3) to their first exhibition victory, 28-10, over the Dallas Cowboys (2-3) at the Superdome.

Everett’s touchdown pass was a 49-yarder to Torrance Small.

Dallas Coach Barry Switzer limited the playing time of his starters, especially running back Emmitt Smith (five carries for 10 yards) and quarterback Troy Aikman (four of six passes for 29 yards).

Marshall Faulk, whose longest run in four games was 12 yards, scored on a 72-yard pass play as the Indianapolis Colts (4-0) completed their first unbeaten exhibition season since 1989 with a 24-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns (3-1) at Indianapolis. . . . Hugh Millen threw two touchdown passes 29 seconds apart late in the first half, leading the Denver Broncos (2-3) over the Arizona Cardinals, 30-21, in Denver. Arizona was 1-3 in exhibitions.
