Santa Clara High scored its first points of the season Saturday night against St. Monica.

The Saints, however, are still without their first victory after being trounced, 41-6, in a nonleague game at Santa Monica City College.

St. Monica jumped to a 12-0 first-quarter lead, but Santa Clara narrowed the gap to 12-6 on a one-yard sneak by quarterback Andy Super.

But Santa Clara (0-2) didn’t come any closer. The Mariners scored on five of six possessions en route to a 33-6 lead.
