Trucker Critically Injured in Hit-Run
A 65-year-old Oklahoma truck driver was in critical condition Tuesday night after being hit by a car while walking along Lewis Road in Camarillo.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies were investigating the hit-and-run accident, which occurred about 6:50 p.m. Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Cook said the car had been recovered, but the driver had fled the scene.
The accident victim, Robert Sullins of Pawnee, Okla., was undergoing surgery at Pleasant Valley Hospital late Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.
