Crowley, from Marina High, had two costly fumbles in Golden West’s first two games but has become dependable with the ball recently. Crowley had a career-high 147 yards in 24 carries as the Rustlers beat Orange Coast, 7-6, Saturday. Crowley rushed for 11 of Golden West’s 19 first downs, including a vital one late in the game. He gained two yards on fourth and one with about two minutes left. The play gave Rustlers a first down at the OCC 21 and they were able to run out the clock.

Cross-country

* Irvine Valley, Freshman. Holland finished 15th, the best for an Orange County athlete, among 180 runners Friday at the Irvine Invitational.

Water polo

K.C. Nance

* Saddleback, Freshman. Nance scored 24 goals and had 22 steals as the Gauchos won four of five games, including victories over two top-10 ranked teams.
