OUTLOOK

The Saxons are young and inexperienced, so they might take some lumps this season. “We’re emphasizing getting better with every practice and every game,” Prange said. Hoggatt is the most experienced player, and he only started two or three games last season, Prange said. “He’s the only one with a whole season of varsity experience. Dan and Tony (Moss) need to score and rebound for us.” McBride, who starts at running back for the football team, should be the point guard. Popal, up from the junior varsity, and Thomas, the freshman MVP, are two of the team’s best shooters. Both will see significant action. Moses, JV MVP, will also see time at off-guard. Goulding and Hollenbeck are key reserves on the front line. “This team has the best work ethic of any I’ve had,” Prange said. “That’s what makes me excited because I think they can improve.”
