Dorsey 26, Woodland Hills Taft 20--Trailing, 20-7, with five minutes to play, Dorsey (10-2) rallied for the 4-A victory at Taft.

Dorsey tied the score at 20-20 with 34 seconds remaining but missed the extra-point attempt. The Dons then tried an onside kick, but Taft recovered.

Trying to get Taft (10-2) into field-goal range, Dayon Shaw had his pass intercepted by Dorsey’s Antwain Wilson, who raced untouched down the sideline for a 65-yard touchdown as time expired.

Sylmar 28, Wilmington Banning 27--Top-seeded Sylmar (12-0) overcame a 21-0 first-quarter deficit and won in overtime over the Pilots (6-5-1) after tying the score at 27-27 on Durell Price’s one-yard run with 3:18 to play in regulation in a 4-A game at Sylmar.

Gerrod Taylor’s quarterback keeper for no gain from the Banning 49 gave Sylmar a victory by California tiebreaker, in which play starts at the 50 and teams trade possessions four times from the spot of the previous play and whichever team has penetrated the other’s territory after the eight plays is the winner.

Crenshaw 33, San Pedro 6--Crenshaw running backs Brandon Seales and Farrel Payton combined for 252 yards and five touchdowns as the Cougars (11-1) defeated the Pirates (7-5) in a 4-A game at Fremont High.

Wilson 27, Washington 11--Arlin Slayton rushed for 157 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Mules (10-2) to a 3-A victory over Washington (5-7) at Wilson.

Bell 29, Venice 3--Vern Benard and Juan Diaz rushed for two touchdowns each to lift Bell (9-3) in a 3-A game at Bell. Benard had 101 yards in 16 carries and Diaz gained 70 yards in nine.

Bell quarterback Gus Valenzuela completed nine of 17 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown to help the Eagles advance to the semifinals for the first time since 1984.

Van Nuys Birmingham 20, North Hills Monroe 12--Paul Prince completed only three of five passes, but two of them went for touchdowns as Birmingham (6-5-1) held on in a 3-A game at Monroe (6-6).

The game was expected to be a battle of running backs, with 1,000-yard rushers Nick Nucciteeli of Monroe and Courtney Blunt of Birmingham doing battle. But Prince stole the show with a pair of touchdown passes that increased his season total to 10.

Manual Arts 21, Reseda Cleveland 14--John Hildred’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Lavar Mahony in the third quarter gave Manual Arts (8-4) the lead for good in a 3-A game at Gardena High.

Cleveland ended the season at 6-6.
