OUTLOOK

In 1992-93, the Sea Kings won the Southern Section Division IV-AA championship with an up-tempo style that was a departure from the traditional ultra-patient Corona del Mar teams. This season, Orris will return to that fast-paced style to try to compensate for a lack of size. Corona del Mar’s tallest player is 6-4, but the Sea Kings make up for it with good shooting. “Definitely, we’re going to have to be concerned with our lack of size, but we’re athletic and all nine guys we’ll have on the varsity can shoot it,” Orris said. “We’re not a team that can pound it inside, so we’re going to run and press a lot more to take advantage of our speed and athleticism.” Fracalosy will be a chief scoring threat, with the ability to shoot the three and slash to the basket. DeGrazier, who split time between the varsity and junior varsity last year, and Owen will handle point-guard duties. While size might be lacking inside, Orris is pleased with the efforts of Schiff, Coleman, MacDonald and Klinke against bigger players.
