PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Campuzano Leads Garden Grove Past Santa Fe

Mike Campuzano scored 10 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter to help Garden Grove rally for a 65-58 victory over Santa Fe Springs Santa Fe in the first round of the Buena Park Elks tournament Monday at Buena Park High.

Santa Fe led, 43-42, to start the final quarter. Jason Levasseur had 18 and Jose Gonzales 15 for Garden Grove (1-0).

In another Buena Park tournament game:

Buena Park 75, Pico Rivera Mesrobian 36--Courtney Smith had 21 points and Towan Oliver added 20 for Buena Park (1-0). Terrance Broussard added 16 for Buena Park.

In the National Sports Grill Invitational at Loara:

Servite 69, El Modena 49--Servite made 31 of 35 free throws in the first-round victory. Mark Seaton (19 points) was nine of 12, Dennis Wisco was eight of eight and Sean Rawson made six of six free throws.

Lakewood 85, Sunny Hills 60--Mike SooHoo scored 13 points and Clint Collins added nine for Sunny Hills in the first round. LaBree Williams had a game-high 27 points for Lakewood.

Pacifica 68, Downey Warren 51--Pacifica, the defending Division III champion, led, 41-15, at halftime. Jimmy Agatep and Eric Martinez each scored 16 points.

Kennedy 61, La Mirada 52--Todd Tsuboi had 14 points to lead Kennedy (1-0).

In the Beaumont tournament:

Yucaipa 81, Valencia 61--James Rivera had 14 points for Valencia (0-1), which was outscored, 41-28, in the second half.

In a nonleague game:

Tustin 78, Edison 49--Rob Griffin scored 29 points and David Lalazarian 14 to lead visiting Tustin. Josh Lightman scored 13 points and Brad Lisotto had 12 for Edison.

In the Los Angeles Washington girls’ basketball tournament:

Gardena 69, Los Alamitos 64--Los Alamitos was outscored, 32-17, in the third quarter after leading, 29-26, at the half. Brooke Donberg had 17 points for the Griffins.

In nonleague girls’ games:

Foothill 32, Los Amigos 23--Stacy Brunansky scored seven points to pace visiting Foothill (1-0). Carmela Zavala had 10 points and five rebounds for Los Amigos.

Whittier Christian 65, Buena Park 7--Alana Kempton had 20 points and nine steals, Kim Menke had 14 points and Kristi Ralston added 10 points and eight rebounds for host Whittier Christian (1-0).

Villa Park 74, Norwalk Glenn 54--The Spartans, who have won consecutive Century League titles, were led by Missy Bynon with 16 points and Michelle Miyake with 13.

Cypress 36, Savanna 22--Vivian Cheung had 10 points and Stacy Silva had 14 rebounds for host Cypress.
