OUTLOOK

Esposito doesn’t expect any miracles this season. His team is young and small, with his threereturning starters all being sophomores. “We haven’t had much success in the last five years, which causes many team members to leave by the time they become juniors,” Esposito said. “They don’t want to play anymore.” Esposito, who is also the school’s athletic director and football coach, has had three coaches in the last three years running the program, and he decided to take over this year to try and get it back on track. He thinks his team has a lot of talent; they just need to get some game experience. He says their main strength is their versatility. With his players ranging from 5 feet 3 to 5-7, he can substitute eight or nine deep and not give up much. Without any height, Esposito is going to run a motion offense and use the team’s speed and athletic ability to handle such powers as Sherman Indian and La Sierra Academy. “They shoot well and they are big,” Esposito said. “They out-physical everyone.”
