OUTLOOK

Calvary Chapel has reached the forefront of the Olympic League in Falconer’s second year with Whittier Christian the main team standing in the way of a league championship for the Eagles. They have great size with five players 6 foot 3 or taller. Throw in who Falconer calls the two best young guards in the county and Calvary Chapel looks to be a well-rounded squad. The Eagles played with some of the top teams over the summer, including Los Alamitos, Tustin and Sonora, and Falconer thinks Calvary Chapel is about the 12th best team in the county. Kevin Falconer averaged 10 points and eight assists last season as a freshman and has grown two inches since. Leasau is a big target in the middle for Falconer passes and averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ortiz scored 30 points in a summer game, and Falconer said he could lead the team in scoring and be the best around before he’s through.
