OUTLOOK

The Minutemen are loaded with juniors and seniors, and should be in the hunt for the league championship from the start. McClung and Avery each have a chance to lead the county in scoring after averaging close to 25 points during summer league. McClung also averaged six three-pointers. Bahnsen has a tough nonleague schedule, and the first-year coach hopes his team can survive and improve during that time. He also hopes Liberty Christian can get past the playoff quarterfinals, where it has been stopped the last four seasons. McClung and Avery both were first-team all-league selections last season, while Rule made the second team. The Minutemen’s main weakness is their lack of experience at center. Engleman has the size to fit the role, but whatever else is yet to be seen. Developing Engleman into more than just a big body will be a key to the Minutemen’s season.
