In other nonleague girls’ soccer:
Buena Park 4, Savanna 3--Maronel Barajas scored twice and Georgina Velasquez and Gabriele Sagisns each scored one to lead Buena Park (3-3).
Irvine 1, Katella 0--Jennifer Meyerson scored a goal for visiting Irvine (8-0-1), ranked ninth.
Western 2, Bolsa Grande 0--Amber Rose scored on an unassisted goal and a penalty kick for host Western (2-5).
In the Hacienda Heights Wilson boys’ soccer tournament:
Cypress 2, City of Industry Workman 1--Chuck Caldarella scored the winning goal with about five minutes left to play for Cypress (8-2-2) in the fifth-place game.
In nonleague boys’ soccer:
Bolsa Grande 2, Orange Lutheran 1--Robert Cortez scored the winning goal for Bolsa Grande with three minutes left on a direct kick.
Cerritos 4, Brea-Olinda 2--Brian Yezarski and David Alexander each scored goals for Brea-Olinda (6-3-2).
Los Alamitos 1, Long Beach Millikan 0--Marco Materazzi, on an assist by Nick Artukovic, scored the game’s only goal 10 minutes in the first half for fourth-ranked Los Alamitos (6-0-3).
In the first round of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions:
Fountain Valley 52, Thousand Oaks 46--Nicole Strange scored a game-high 20 points to lead Fountain Valley (6-2). Teammate Jennifer Ludwicki added 17.
Brea-Olinda 59, Long Beach Millikan 26--Second-ranked Brea-Olinda (9-0) was led by Kiyoko Miller’ 16 points. The Ladycats, who stretched their county-record winning streak to 63 games, will play Atherton Sacred Heart, the top-ranked team in the State, today in the second round.
Woodbridge 60, Bakersfield 15--Melanie Pearson had 15 points and five assists and Krissy Duperron had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead top-ranked Woodbridge (6-0), which led, 39-11, at the half.
San Clemente 61, Marina 51--San Clemente rallied from a 12-0 first-quarter deficit to upset Marina, ranked fourth in the county. The Tritons (6-5) were 15 of 20 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and were able to fend off the Vikings (8-1).
Heather Hollis had 15 points for San Clemente.
In nonleague wrestling:
Western 36, Cypress 33--Brady Zimolzack pinned his opponent 26 seconds into the second period at 189 pounds to clinch the victory for Western (9-1).
