THE BOWLS DAILY REPORT : HOLIDAY / MICHIGAN vs. COLORADO STATE, Friday : Wheatley No Better and No Worse
- Share via
After the big buildup for his senior season, Michigan’s big-play running back Tyrone Wheatley could only equal last season’s statistics.
And that’s the odd thing. He rushed for 1,064 yards and 11 touchdowns each season.
Wheatley might have surpassed last season’s total had he not missed Michigan’s first two games because of a leg injury. Still, he was not disappointed with the outcome.
“Not to sound cocky, I like odds, I like to overcome them,” he said. “I’m happy. A lot of guys couldn’t even wear my shoes (considering) what I’ve been through.
“I’m on course, I followed the road and I did everything I was supposed to. I didn’t leave any rocks unturned.”
