DOWNTOWN : Man Arrested in Double Murder Case
A 23-year-old Los Angeles man has been booked on suspicion of murder in the strangulation of two men whose bodies were found in a Downtown hotel.
Frank Becerra was arrested Wednesday, although police declined to provide information on him or what led them to him. Los Angeles Police Detective Al Gonzalez said the investigation is continuing and there may be additional suspects.
A motive has not been determined. Although the hotel room was in disarray, it did not appear to have been ransacked and it was uncertain if anything had been stolen from the room, Gonzales said.
The bodies, wire wrapped around their necks, were discovered shortly after midnight Wednesday at the Pacific Grande single room occupancy hotel, according to police.
The victims’ names were not released late last week because their families had not yet been notified, Gonzales said.
The manager of the hotel, Michael Cheng, said the men were longtime residents but declined to comment further regarding their deaths.
