BURBANK : Police Investigating Death of Woman
Police Monday were investigating whether a woman found dead in her driveway died of natural causes or foul play.
The body of Christina Cooke, 34, was found about 8:30 a.m. in the driveway of her home in the 1100 block of North Orchard Street by her estranged husband, police said.
“It’s hard to say” if the woman died naturally, said Sgt. Scott Wilson. He said she had been ill, but added “there were some suspicious circumstances surrounding her discovery.”
The woman lived with her children but had been separated from her husband for the past six months, Wilson said. Her body showed evidence of injury but it was not clear if she received them in a struggle or in a fall, he added.
Thomas Cooke, 31, told police he was at the house because he had received a call at home the previous day from his estranged wife to meet her the next morning at her residence, police said.
