BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP

In Garden Grove League boys’ basketball:

Los Amigos 64, Bolsa Grande 55--John Elsaesser had 19 points and 12 rebounds for host Los Amigos (7-10, 1-4).

Rancho Alamitos 69, Santiago 49--Juan Toscanini scored 18 points for Rancho Alamitos (3-2 in league).

In the Golden West League:

Tustin 69, Ocean View 46--Tustin’s David Lalazarian made sure Ocean View Coach Jim Harris had to wait at least one more game to earn his 300th career victory.

Lalazarian, a 6-7 center, took advantage of an Ocean View lineup whose tallest starter was 6-4, scoring 25 points, blocking five shots and getting eight rebounds to lead the second-ranked Tillers (17-1, 4-0).

“Coach (Andy Ground) said he wanted to get the ball to me, because he thought no one could play with me,” Lalazarian said. “We also knew if we played good defense, we’d beat them. We did that.”

Lalazarian played a big role in holding Ocean View’s Dan McDonald to 15 points, 11 less than his average. McDonald was held to two three-point baskets in the second half.

Lalazarian scored 15 of his points in the first half, including 10 during a 13-4 Tustin run. The Tillers led, 34-24, at halftime.

Robert Griffin added 19 points for Tustin.

Ocean View is 12-8, 2-2.
