SOUTHERN SECTION PLAYOFFS

In Division II-A:

Brea Olinda 52, Inglewood 35--Kiyoko Miller had 10 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to help top-seeded Brea Olinda pull away in the quarterfinal. Miller had eight assists, 11 steals and five blocks, Dawn Metz had 16 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks and Lee Moulin added eight points for the Ladycats, who advanced to the semifinals on Tuesday.

Edison 57, Ventura 46--Edison trailed by one late in the third quarter, but the Chargers outscored Ventura, 20-13, in the fourth to pull away. Marie Philman scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Kerry O’Bric had 15 points and 10 assists for the Chargers (20-6).

Pasadena Muir 59, El Dorado 56--Third-seeded Muir (23-2) had a 15-12 advantage in the fourth quarter that eliminated El Dorado (20-6); Shanna Renken led the Golden Hawks with 20 points and Jamie Nebeker had 15.

In Division III-A:

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 55, Costa Mesa 50--Costa Mesa rallied from 13 points down late in the fourth quarter, but got no closer than five. Erin Brown scored 16 points and Corri Lurmann added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Mustangs (19-9).
